About Dr. De Young

About Dr. De Young

Dr. De Young, a second generation orthopedic surgeon with 30 years of experience, brings a quality approach to medicine and a genuine sense of caring to each of his patients. His reputation for honesty and integrity has earned him the respect of his fellow orthopedists and the enduring affection of his patients.

In a world where patients spend more time with a P.A. or a nurse than their physician, Dr. Stephen De Young stands out. He believes that a correct diagnosis can only come with the individual attention that he gives to each person. Never hurried, always listening and not relying on test results alone, he is an unparalleled diagnostician. He often discovers conditions unrelated to the issue for which the patient is being seen, creating a more in depth diagnosis.

Dr. De Young takes a conservative approach to surgery and is able to correct many issues without the trauma of surgical treatment. However if surgery is needed, Dr. De Young is a board certified, fully qualified, orthopedic surgeon, with many years of experience.

Educated in his home state of Texas and in practice since 1981, Dr. De Young is associated with Southwest Orthopedic Group whom he joined in 2002.

Giving back to the community and helping those in need is important to Dr. De Young. He is a member of the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce, and he is on staff with Shriners Hospital for Children.
